ADVANCING THE IMPLEMENTATION OF A LIVESTOCK CLUSTER IN CHUBUT
The project is part of a competitive improvement plan agreed by all actors
of bovine livestock del Valle Inferior del Río Chubut (VIRCH).

The Ministry of Government Agribusiness promotes the development of a
bovine livestock cluster in the lower valley of the River Chubut through
technical and financial support of the Provincial Agricultural Services
(PROSAP), which manages the Directorate General of sectoral programs and
projects and special (DIPROSE).
On June 4 forum to launch the initiative taking place in the departments of
Gaiman and Rawson, Chubut province was conducted. The meeting in the town
of Dolavon, involved more than 70 actors in the chain, from producers to
representatives of the private, academic and technological sector.
Livestock VIRCH region covers 41,400 hectares, with approximately 250
producers seven abattoirs with provincial traffic, 14 distributors and 12
suppliers of inputs.
By signing a charter commitments work teams cluster actors were achieved.
They will work in participatory formulation of a Competitive Improvement
Plan tailored to livestock activities in the region.
The initiative also has the technical support of Rural Change, the National
Agricultural Technology Institute (INTA) and the National Food and Drinks
Agribusiness Secretary of State's Office.
