The National Government advances at full speed with the reconstruction of
the RN 60, at the height of the Quebrada de la Cébila. In recent days, the
nation ended the stage of refilling of two of the most significant erosions
of the corridor, including the area known as 'Bad Tour'.
In this way, and significant progress on 13 of the 17 km affected by the
storm that hit different regions of Catamarca in early February were held.
The works, which are developed between 1,131 and 1,148 km, focus on filling
of erosions, cleaning sewers, and recovery of defenses and embankments.
In parallel, they evolve in a good way cleaning work riverbed and tasks of
earthworks, where more than 140000 cubic meters of material removed were
recorded. To speed up the pace, National Roads Authority built a series of
detours, installed a mobile camp in the Quebrada de la Cébila and hired
private service -retroexcavadora equipment, bulldozer, loaders and trucks
that joined the work on April 26 .
"We are making an unprecedented deployment to the catamarqueños can
re-circulate through the Quebrada of Cébila as soon as possible. The
national government are devoting all available resources to rebuild this
important connectivity corridor province, "said Patricia Gutiérrez, General
Administrator of the National Highway.
New projects
As reconstruction proceeds, National Roads Authority prepares a project for
the construction of a new hydraulic system that covers nine concrete
culverts replace damaged structures and also be installed in other parts of
the corridor where they are required.
The project will be divided into two stages: the first aims to ensure the
circulation quickly and safely through this stretch of the RN 60 and, for
that reason, will consist of the construction of culverts and retaining
walls channeled. The works of this first phase will demand more than $ 185
million national investment.
The second phase of the project will include the complete reconstruction of
the hunted plus verges, defense walls, slope protection, water conservancy
and channeled, new defenses and horizontal and vertical signage. The amount
of the works will exceed $ 200 million.
New structures and defenses that will have the corridor are being designed
to be more resistant and be suited to the most demanding challenges posed
by climate risk and phenomena of similar characteristics, such as occurred
in the Quebrada de la Cébila in early February.
