FOOD MARKETING MEETINGS OF FAMILY FARMING

SANTA ROSA (La Pampa) - On 16 and 23 May the National Health Service and
Food Quality (Senasa) participated in two meetings on "Marketing Food
Family Farming" organized by the National Agricultural Technology Institute
(INTA). Participants also included representatives of PRO Huerta and the
Ministries of Health and Development, and Production of the province of La
Pampa.
The meetings aimed at showmen and huerteros, dealt with the different short
product marketing channels; differentiation thereof; pricing and how to
carry out the presentation of foods for sale.
In this framework, Jose Hernandez, representative of the area Safety
Regional Center Pampeano spoke about the operation of mobile slaughter
truck and a fixed point on the characteristics of the processing area of ​​
family farming.
In this regard, he reported that mobile slaughter rooms represent an
innovative solution to bring safe food to the community. They are requested
under the support provided by the national government to the development of
small producers, small towns and the production of safe agricultural food
for the population.
Driven by the Senasa, the project works with small farmers with difficulty
accessing traditional refrigerators, improving their productive development
and the health conditions for the slaughter of their animals, adding value
at origin and facilitating marketing.
It was also said that thanks to an interagency work of organizations
related to family farming, the National Food Commission (CONAL) joined the
Argentine Food Code (CAA) the enabling conditions for local small and
medium scale process and market foods.
The CAA is a set of sanitary, bromatological regulations and commercial
identification whose primary objective the protection of the health of the
population.
Finally it emphasized the National Sanitary Register of Agricultural
Producers (RENSPA). I explained what that record is, their characteristics
and scope; and especially health responsibility that meets the producer in
any type of agricultural production regardless of the size of the
establishment and / or productive unit.
The compromise between the different institutions involved in livestock
production and / or agriculture are paramount when making information
campaigns of any kind. For this reason, this time and across different
institutions, was extended sought information and reach the different
actors, in agrifood chains.
