MAXIMUM ARGENTINA INTERNATIONAL RECOGNITION FOR HIS FIGHT AGAINST TRAFFICKING

The Government of the United States recognized Argentina again to the
maximum category, Tier 1, for state policies to combat, prevent and
eradicate trafficking and exploitation of people. Argentina shares this
qualifying with Chile and Colombia, only Latin American countries with this
distinction.
The report made by the Office to Monitor and Combat Trafficking in Persons
of the US administration, was pointed out that the Argentine
government "continued to demonstrate serious and sustained efforts during
the reporting period".

country.
Argentina was ranked first in the top flight in 2018. It thus remains at
the highest level of evaluation covering nations "fully comply with the
minimum standards for the elimination of trafficking"; while between 2011
and 2017, it was rated category Tier 2, in which countries are
located "whose governments do not fully comply with the minimum standards
for the elimination of trafficking but are making significant efforts to
meet those standards ".
Brazil, Ecuador, Mexico, Paraguay, Peru and Uruguay currently maintain the
category Tier 2; Bolivia raised his to Tier 2 "Watch List" and Venezuela is
within the Tier 3 category, the last in the scale.
The Executive for Combating Trafficking and Exploitation of Persons, formed
by the Ministry of Security Committee, the Ministry of Justice and Human
Rights, the Ministry of Health and Social Development and the Ministry of
Production and Labor, is responsible for designing and monitoring Biennial
compliance with the National Plan to Combat Trafficking and Exploitation of
Persons, whose coordination depends on the Chief of the Cabinet of
Ministers.
