SINAGIR NATIONAL COUNCIL HELD ITS FOURTH MEETING
The National Council of the National System for Integrated Risk Management
and Civil Protection (SINAGIR), which coordinates aid to the provinces to
crises and disasters floods, fires or landslides, held at the Casa Rosada
its fourth meeting. The event, held in the Hall Indigenous Peoples,
attended by the Secretaries of Government of Environment and Sustainable
Development, Sergio Bergman; Science and Technology, Lino Barañao; and
Health, Adolfo Rubinstein. Also they attended the secretaries of Civil
Protection, Emilio Renda and Housing, Ivan Kerr, as well as representatives
of the different areas that make up the system created in 2016 by the
Government to coordinate a rapid and effective response between different
national agencies and provincial and municipal forces. During the meeting,
Renda highlighted the recent inauguration of the National Center for
Emergency Alert and Monitoring and the start of the project for the
creation of the National Center for Disaster Risk Reduction. At the same
time, he addressed the inclusion of NGOs and the private sector to the
system of joint body with the aim of promoting mutual cooperation and joint
preventive measures. Officials also discussed the challenge posed by the
standardization of information, connecting all technical agencies and
ministries to the National Center and the incorporation of technology in
prevention and forecasting. The SINAGIR is responsible for coordinating the
resources of the various ministries and national to provide nationwide
agencies, with the provinces and municipalities, assisting urban and rural
populations who are in emergency situations. Articulates with Chief of
Staff and the Ministries of Interior, Health and Social Development,
Defense, Finance, Transport, Foreign Affairs, Justice and Human Rights, and
Education, Culture, Science and Technology. It also establishes links with
the secretariats of Environment and Sustainable Development, Tourism and
Agribusiness; the Nuclear Regulatory Authority, the National Advisory
Commission for the Integration of Persons with Disabilities, ENACOM and
other agencies.
