THE GOVERNMENT ANNOUNCED A PROGRAM TO PROMOTE CAR SALES DISCOUNT 0KM

The National Government and the Association of Automakers (ADEFA) jointly
launched the program "June 0km," an initiative that seeks to promote 30-day
car sales kilometer zero at a significant discount in the price of the
units intended for sale to the public throughout the national territory.

launched the program "June 0km," an initiative that seeks to promote 30-day
car sales kilometer zero at a significant discount in the price of the
units intended for sale to the public throughout the national territory.
"Through this initiative we provide a strong support to the automotive
industry and consumers to be more dynamic domestic market in the sector, as
we continue to underpin the improvement in exports of the entire complex,"
said Minister of Production and Labor, Dante Sica.
The Government will support companies through funds that will allow cheaper
local production costs while car manufacturers offer through its official
dealers a discount of $ 50,000 per vehicle for those whose selling price is
equal to or less than $ 750,000, and $ 90,000 for those whose price is
higher, excluding vehicles made by domestic taxes.
In addition, the bonded terminals will not raise vehicle prices achieved by
the program during the term of benefit. In turn, provinces are invited to
reduce the Stamp Tax applicable at the time of patenting 0Km units.
Bonuses apply only to sales transactions in cash or financed and can be
combined with other promotions offered by the terminals. These benefits
will not apply for automobiles awarded by previous savings plans.
"The goal is to boost consumption at this stage in which we note that major
automakers are in a transition investment: all companies will have between
2020 and 2021 projects exporting scale," said Industry Secretary Fernando
Grasso .
Argentina's automotive industry is among the top 20 manufacturers in the
world and all the local value chain comprises a share of around 8% in
industrial employment. It also explains more than 40% of Argentine exports
of industrial manufactures, since it is the second largest exporter complex
in the country, generating 68,000 direct jobs and about 156,000 indirect
jobs.
Other measures for the sector
EXPORT REFUNDS: increased from 2% to 6.5% the rate applicable to exports to
Mercosur countries, which account for 70% of total exports of the sector
and affect more than 50% of production volume
RATE STATISTICS: it exempted from payment of 2.5% temporary imports,
mechanism widely used by industry, impacting over 40% of production costs
Import duty AUTOPARTES NO PRODUCED was reduced from 12% to 2% the tariff
applicable to more than 150 auto not produced, improving more than 2% local
production costs
AUTOPARTISMO strengthening law: the development of local auto parts
suppliers 5 terminals with investments and projects approved in recent
years is attached.
