It's official: Argentina will host the third edition of the World Skate
Games 2021, to be held between October and November of that year. The
presentation of the mega event, which will take place in the City of Buenos
Aires, Vicente Lopez and San Juan, was given Tuesday at noon in the VIP
room CeNARD, with the presence of Italian Sabatino Aruca, president of the
International Federation of Roller Sports; Daniel Ventura, head of the
Argentina Confederation of skating; Guillermo Velasco, vice president of
the Federation Sanjuanina Skate; Fabián Turnes, Sports Secretary Vicente
Lopez; Gaston Busso, chief of staff of the Secretariat for Sports of the
City of Buenos Aires and Diogenes de Urquiza, executive director of the
National Sports Agency.
"We are proud that the World Skate Games are made in Argentina, more after
the success of Buenos Aires 2018. It's great to unite the passion for
wheels on a single event," said Sabatino Aruca. "We want to thank all
entities of government, from the moment we present the candidacy, gave us
their support. They will participate more than 10,000 athletes will show a
festival of wheels," said Daniel Ventura. Meanwhile, Diogenes de Urquiza
said, "These are sports where younger participate. For us it is an honor
and a great challenge."
It will be the third edition of the Games, who had his baptism in Nanjing,
China, in 2017 and, from next July 4 will be held in Barcelona the second
edition. In Spain more than 4,000 athletes from 115 countries taking part
in 150 competitions divided into eleven disciplines are expected: figure
skating, skate race, roller hockey, hockey in line, alpine, downhill,
inline Freestyle, roller derby, roller Freestyle, skate and scooter.
