START OF SAMPLING FOR THE USE OF PESTICIDES IN FOODS VEGETABLES

Buenos Aires - The National Health Service and Food Quality (Senasa) began
in concentrators markets and distribution centers fruits and vegetables,
with taking annual samples for its National Waste Control and Health Food
(CREHA) Plant . The central objective of the actions is to verify that
appropriate level of consumer protection of plant foods sold in the
country, whether domestic or imported. In this regard, samples of products
moving between provincial jurisdictions, including the City of Buenos
Aires, which are intended for domestic consumption or export are made.
Significantly products circulating within a municipality or province are
not reached by these controls, as are the municipal and provincial
authorities responsible for the quality and safety of them. The sampling
plan is one of the tools that can identify deviations and inform the
relevant areas to assess and decide the course of action to follow.
