THE GOVERNMENT APPROVED THE IMPLEMENTATION OF A NATIONAL ANTI-CORRUPTION PLAN FOR THE PERIOD 2019 2023

The Government approved the implementation, for the period 2019-2023, a
National Anti-Corruption Plan comprising over 250 cross and sectoral
initiatives in order to consolidate and deepen the path of transparency in
public administration. He did through Decree 258/2019 published in the
Official Gazette with the signatures of President Mauricio Macri; Chief of
Staff, Marcos Peña; and the Minister of Justice and Human Rights, Germán
Garavano. In the preamble, the regulation emphasizes that "the fight
against corruption and respect for the Republican ethics and transparency
deparan undoubted benefits of any kind for the nation." He adds that these
benefits "generate prestige, confidence and predictability that our country
needs to start a real and sustainable economic and social development." It
stresses that since corruption in the National Civil Service "a complex
phenomenon" must be addressed "broadly through the design and
implementation of public policies both preventive and punitive, in
accordance with international commitments" at the time by the country.
After pointing out that the fight against corruption "is a priority of the
policies of the Executive Branch" it indicates that the plan was developed
to account for the progress made in the last 3 years and to plan the next
