MACRI RECORRIO A NEW TERMINAL FOR THE AUTOMOTIVE TRADE PORT BELL
President Mauricio Macri walked along the Buenos Aires governor, María
Eugenia Vidal, construction of a new terminal in the port of Buenos Aires
Campana that, when fully enabled, will be one of the most important in the
country for the automotive trade. The Head of State made the visit

terminal will have an area of 240 hectares, mooring capacity of 1900
linear meters and a dredged depth of 11 meters. The port complex also has a
terminal for clean loads for trade citrus, meat and sugar, among other
products, and a third oriented industry in the operations of sodium
carbonate, sodium sulfate salt prevail hydroxide aluminum and potassium
chloride. Since December 2015, the government adopted a series of measures
to reduce logistics costs of Argentine ports became less competitive trade
with other countries by river and sea routes. During that time, the
government reduced 61 percent logistics costs for export and 21 percent of
imports at the port of Buenos Aires, as part of measures boosted foreign
trade and collaborated with the recovery of regional economies and

of Transport of the Nation, made it possible to recover more than 70
percent of international trade in river cargo, to ensure that Paraguayan
shipping back to tranship in the port terminal. The movement of the TEU

Santos in Brazil, while decreased by 17 percent import costs from that
terminal. In July 2016, the Government defused the TAP (Transportation
Argentino protection), container compulsory insurance involving an annual
cost overrun for users of the Port of Buenos Aires, Exolgán and Zárate 1500
million. Last year, Argentine companies saved $ 13.7 million by reducing
the 66 percent rate sweeping and cleaning container import duty previously
charged $ 82 per unit. Also in 2018 a savings of $ 5 million by eliminating
seal verification that charged the port terminals of Puerto Buenos Aires
was generated. In addition, the government repealed the resolution that
prevented national export cargo transshipment in Montevideo, which caused
more than 190 thousand containers per year they did in Brazil, hurting the
Argentina and Uruguay.
