NATIONAL ROADS COMPLETED CONSTRUCTION OF THE BRIDGE OVER THE RIVER TORTO MISSIONS
The Ministry of Transport of the Nation, through National Roads Authority
(VN), inaugurated a new bridge over the Canal Torto stream, in the province
of Misiones, with an investment of over 240 million pesos. The new building
has a large, modern and secure structure as above, and is accompanied by a
variant of the Provincial Route 103 to rectify the entrances and avoid
dangerous curves and counter-curves of the old route. The bridge has a
length of 150 meters and has a roadway of 8.30 meters wide, also has
pedestrian sidewalks of about one meter wide and metallic defenses. Thanks
to this work, which demanded a large volume of soil movement, blasting
rocks and pavement, the flow of freight and long distance passenger in the
Upper Uruguay will be restored. The new bridge will optimize the connection
in southern Misiones, especially between the towns of Colonia Acaraguá and
9 de Julio, in the town of Alba Posse, which will drive the growth of a
significant amount of local agricultural enterprises, since the area
characterized as the main producer of snuff and yerba mate in the country.
The RP 103 is an important trunk corridor linking the two main routes of
the province: national routes 12 and 14.
