THE NAVY IDENTIFIED MORE THAN 40 VESSELS FISHING WITHIN THE LIMITS OF THE EXCLUSIVE ECONOMIC ZONE ARGENTINA

The Defense Ministry reports that Argentina Armada performed tasks maritime
traffic control at the limit of the Exclusive Argentina (ZEEA) Economic
Zone on Mile 200, where he managed to identify over forty fishing vessels,
some of the national flag and other third flags.
The tasks were performed aboard the destroyer ARA "Argentina", supported by
air and naval units, and during the execution of maritime patrolled by
surface and air data vessels engaging in fishing activities in and near the
ZEEA checked.
the correlation between the data provided by the Automatic Identification
System (AIS) and those obtained through direct communications are also
found, collating all are within the established legal standards.
Simultaneously ARA "La Argentina" -dependent Division Destroyers Fleet
Command conducted training Mar- manning on board, through exercise damage
control and fire fighting.
Aircraft involved in the operation were one S2T Turbo Tracker antisubmarine
Aeronaval Escuadrilla and Super King B-200 Aeronaval Escuadrilla Maritime
surveillance, which deployed from its natural seats to the air Base
Almirante Zar Trelew, where initiated, in coordination with the unit area,
flight control maritime traffic, in turn, allowed the operational training
of aircrews.
Argentina Navy permanently performs monitoring and control of maritime
areas of jurisdiction and national interest, such as Argentina's Exclusive
Economic Zone and the adjacent area.
Through these operational activities, this force adheres to the guidelines
of the Argentina policy regarding the care and preservation of marine
resources, climate change, maritime traffic and the preservation of human
life at sea over the vast sector where our country is responsible for
coordinating search and rescue activities.
Also involved in creating an awareness that allows the protection and
conservation of maritime areas through the establishment of marine
protected areas (MPAs), increasing year by year the surface falls under
this protection.
