SEDRONAR DISTINGUISHED PREVENTIVE PROJECTS OF CIVIL SOCIETY ORGANIZATIONS

As part of the third edition of "Argentina Prevents" Program, the
Department of Comprehensive Drug Policy of Argentina (SEDRONAR) selected 48
preventive projects of civil society to be financed by the agency under the
objective of strengthening the addiction prevention in nocturnal spaces,
contexts of social vulnerability, and arts and sports fields.
With the director of Institutional Articulation, Matias Gonzalez, the owner
of the SEDRONAR, Roberto Moro, he led the ceremony where he signed
agreements with representatives and officials of the organizations
selected. "We think this initiative to all associations and institutions to
work together with the state, generating predictive models of life projects
both in sport, culturally, in education, and labor, and that's happening
these years" Moro said.
In this regard, the head of the SEDRONAR said that "our country is so large
and with so many cultural characteristics, we pretend that organizations of
civil society are an effector over the territory and help us raise
awareness of addictions they are everyone's problem. "
For his part, Gonzalez said: "Argentina Prevent is an initiative of federal
character which projects across the country and thus generate preventive
actions that are serving communities across the country are chosen."
Through the "Argentina Prevents" Program, SEDRONAR convened organizations,
associations and foundations that address the issue to present preventive
projects in areas of nocturnality, contexts of social vulnerability, and
arts and sports fields so they can be funded by the Secretariat of State.
Recognizing the federal character of the national state and the importance
of the role of different actors in implementing national public policies,
this program encourages intersectoral work for the prevention of addiction
and promotes innovative prevention tools in contexts of social
vulnerability and areas in arts, sports and nocturnal, liable to be
replicated in other areas. In addition, to enhance the work of these
organizations whose community impact is essential to a comprehensive
approach to addiction.
