THE CARUPÁ TRAIN STATION MITER RENOVATED
The branch to the Miter line Tiger added a new renovated station. The
remodeled station benefits more than 4,000 daily passengers who have a more
comfortable and safer to wait for the train, with better access and ramps
for disabled atmosphere. It adds to the renovated stations San Fernando,
Viceroys, Beccar, Acassuso and Nunez; the new elevated station Belgrano C
and Lisandro de la Torre and improvements in Tigre, Victoria, San Isidro,
Martinez and Rivadavia.

Argentinos railway infrastructure under the Ministry of Transport of the
Nation, completed the renovation of the Carupá train station Miter in its
branch line to Tigre. The train began to stop today at the new station
platforms located in the town of San Fernando. The total investment was US
$ 2 million.
"The stations are the first point of contact with the passenger rail
system. Therefore, the renewed to make them more accessible to all people,
with a comfortable and safe environment, "said Guillermo Fiad, president of
Argentine Railway Infrastructure.
The works included the construction of new platforms with guide tiles for
the visually disabled, shelters for rain and sunshine, LED lighting,
signage, access ramps for disabled passengers, ticket booths and turnstiles
SUBE. In addition, the set value was held in historic buildings and
perimeter walls and fences were placed between roads to improve safety.
Renewed and are 124 stations in the metropolitan area of Buenos Aires. In
this branch six stations (Carupá, Viceroys, Beccar, San Fernando, Acassuso
and Nunez) were renewed, two new high (Belgrano C and Lisandro de la Torre)
were built and improvements were made in another five (Tigre, Victoria, San
Isidro Martinez and Rivadavia).
Miter line in particular, works were also performed to repower the
electrical system and improve the speed and reliability of service. These
included the replacement of 120 km of cables, construction of 5 new
substations and installation of 55 km of third rail, responsible for
supplying power to the trains. Also, work continues to fully recover in the
area of entry and exit of trains to Retiro.
The branch to Tiger also features the new viaduct Miter, the mega work that
raised the train tracks along 3.9 km and eliminated eight barriers,
increasing the frequency and quality of service. In total, benefited an
average of 100,000 daily passenger train to 30000 people moving
collectively, to 70000 using their private cars, more residents of the
neighborhoods of Belgrano, Núñez and Palermo.
These works are part of the Comprehensive Plan of Railway Works 14000
million launched by the Ministry of Transport of the Nation to transform
the way of train travel throughout the metropolitan area.
