THE GENERAL ARCHIVE OF THE NATION AT THE NIGHT OF THE MUSEUMS

As in previous years, the General Archive of the Nation will participate in
the Night of Museums. This time, the struggles and achievements of women
throughout history and suffering of Polish citizens during World War II
will be the protagonists of cultural offerings.

The General Archive participates on Saturday the 16th edition of the Night
of Museums, the classic event organized by the City of Buenos Aires.
This year, the Archive offers two exhibitions and several
screenings: "Traces of Women Workers: stereotypes, disruptions and gender
violence", a sample produced integrally with the body of the institution.
They will be exhibited by photographic, filmic and paper documents,
stereotypes and prejudices that limited participation of women in the
working world of the early twentieth century; the life and work of those
women who managed to break the discriminatory society corset imposed and
gender-based violence that this generated.
"Women of History" is a series of short audiovisual prepared by the
National Women's Institute, focused on the biography of the great women of
national history. They will be shown in the auditorium of the General
Archive 21 to 23hs.
"Struggle and Suffering: Polish citizens during World War II" exhibition,
prepared by the Polish Embassy in Argentina. In commemoration of the 80th
Anniversary of the start of World War II, the struggle faced by the Polish
people after the liberation of its territory and the struggle for freedom
against totalitarianism stands.
In addition, institutional material that will be presented the new
headquarters will be shown, to open soon to the public in Patricios Park
and the daily work of the different areas of the file.
