The General Command of the National Army of the Republic of Uruguay,
through its highest authority, the Commander in Chief Carlos Abilleira,
acknowledged the work of the Argentina Naval Prefecture on a high-risk
rescue which a crew member was made of a ship Uruguayan-flagged fishing
when he suffered a severe imbalance in the Argentine Sea.
The emergency occurred on September 28 when the fishing Nilto I sailed more
than 220 kilometers from the seaside resort of Mar del Plata when one of
his sailors introduced almost 40 degrees of fever, tremors throughout the
body and chills.
The Naval Prefecture Argentina, National Maritime Authority has deployed an
operational complex rescue that involved aerial means, specialists and
doctor on board who managed aeroevacuar man of 38 years and move to land
where an ambulance took him to the Interzonal Hospital General de Agudos "
Dr. Oscar E. Allende ".
With an emotional message to our National Naval Prefect, Prefect General
Eduardo Scarzello, Abilleira thanked and acknowledged the professionalism,
commitment and responsibility with which our staff unfolded in the rescue
operation.
"We know that the operation was high risk and was done promptly,
effectively and delivered by men and women belonging to the institution,"
he said.
He added: "I express again my appreciation to the National Naval Prefect,
noting that these facts ennoble the profound respect gained regional and
international levels for its strength and contributes to sign further ties
between our institutions."
