UPDATE RULES ON NON-QUARANTINE PESTS

Resolution 1438/2019 fixed phytosanitary standards for plant propagation
material, for both production and import trade.

Buenos Aires - The National Health Service and Food Quality (Senasa)
updated the regulations regarding non-quarantine pests (NCRP), which sets
standards for production, import and marketing.
The measure is provided for in Resolution 1438/2019, with the signature of
the president of Senasa, Ricardo Negri, in the Official Gazette, it was
published on 29 October.
Non-quarantine pests are those that cause the greatest impact on national
frutihorticultura, and are linked directly to the plant propagation
material.
This legislation regulates update RNQPs affecting seed potatoes, citrus
fruit, stone fruit, grapes and strawberries.
The new resolution seeks to improve the production of these species, the
plant management and traceability and quality of plant materials for
commercial production.
