El lugar cuenta con 464 metros cuadrados de una parcela y 484 metros cuadrados de la parcela lindante. El objetivo del espacio será la instalación del Departamento de Artes Audiovisuales de la casa de altos estudios, con espacios áulicos, laboratorios, salas de proyección y servicios generales. Además se cedió otra propiedad de 2796 metros cuadrados ubicada sobre la Avenida Belgrano 2252, en el barrio porteño de Balvanera, cuyo destino será la instalación de unidades académicas para paliar la emergencia edilicia que atraviesa esa universidad. La Universidad Nacional de las Artes fue creada a fines de 1996 con la fusión de siete prestigiosas instituciones terciarias y superiores de arte con el nombre de Instituto Universitario Nacional del Arte (IUNA). En 2014, reconociendo la diversidad disciplinaria que convergía en el IUNA y su crecimiento durante los primeros dieciocho años, el Congreso Nacional cambió por ley su denominación a Universidad Nacional de las Artes. La asignación de los inmuebles se enmarca en la decisión del Poder Ejecutivo Nacional de "hacer prevalecer el proceso de preservación del patrimonio inmobiliario estatal y la racionalización del espacio físico del mismo, con vista a su mejor aprovechamiento y utilización, destinando la afectación de los bienes inmuebles estatales a la planificación, desarrollo y ejecución de políticas públicas".
