Sobre la visita del Ministro, Insaurralde destacó que Cabandié: "Conoce la problemática, conoce el trabajo de nuestras cooperativas, de articulación con los vecinos de Lomas de Zamora para reciclar y mejorar la calidad de vida de nuestros vecinos". Además, añadió que "hoy estamos recibiendo material que para nosotros es muy importante porque tiene que ver con una máquina para poder trabajar en el ecopunto y en los distintos puntos verdes gracias a la ampliación de la cantidad de contenedores". El intendente señaló que "estamos armando una mesa de trabajo para ampliar las políticas públicas referidas al medio ambiente que tanto el ministerio como el municipio quieren afrontar a partir de este este año". En ese sentido el jefe de la Cartera Ambiental felicitó al intendente que "hace años que está tomando esta iniciativa, incluso con normas municipales como la ordenanza para separar en origen, que es algo que nosotros estamos fomentando", aclaró. "En esta primera instancia con la entrega de una pala cargadora y de contenedores, pero también iniciando el proceso administrativo para que antes de fin de año tenga maquinarias pesadas y livianas. Al mismo tiempo iniciamos el proceso, para que lo antes posible, podamos contar con una planta de tratamiento para Lomas de Zamora", remarcó. Por otra parte, Cabandié manifestó que los residuos son recursos que además de ser utilizados para energía, pueden ser utilizados para los cooperativistas, que son el eslabón principal para el tratamiento. Por ello destacó la concientización de la separación en origen por parte de la sociedad porque "nos estamos beneficiando a nosotros mismos si emitimos menos basura y hacemos un tratamiento de los residuos acorde, lo que estamos haciendo es mejorar el ambiente en el que vivimos". La pala tiene una capacidad de carga de un m³ y de 1800 kg, mientras que las campanas sirven para la división de cuatro tipos de residuos, ahorrar el espacio y facilitar las tareas de vaciado. Estos bienes, que se entregaron en comodato, fueron aportados por la Nación mediante la Secretaría de Control y Monitoreo Ambiental. Serán transferidos al municipio una vez finalizados los operativos extraordinarios. Por otro lado, a través de la firma de una carta de intención para aumentar la gobernanza ambiental, Cabandié e Insaurralde se comprometieron a realizar acciones que promuevan la normativa en la materia en el municipio, con el apoyo técnico de la Cartera Ambiental de Nación. Además del ministro y el intendente, participaron de las actividades Manuel Matheu, en representación de la cartera de Ambiente nacional; y Emiliano Baloira, secretario de Medio Ambiente del municipio de Lomas de Zamora.
