Pasaron exactamente ocho años de aquel logro histórico para el deporte argentino. Los Juegos Olímpicos de Londres 2012 tuvieron ese 10 de agosto al taekwondista Sebastián Crismanich como protagonista al vencer en la final de los 80 kilos al español Nicolás García para colgarse la medalla dorada.
"Se está cumpliendo un nuevo aniversario de aquella preciada dorada y todavía lo vivo como si fuera muy reciente, incluso con el correr de los años se acentúa más el conocimiento de haber logrado lo que logré y siento cada vez más fuerte la magnitud de lo que significa ganar una medalla dorada olímpica para mi país. Un sueño que perseguí desde que tenía ocho años", le cuenta Crismanich desde su querido Corrientes a "Deportes" de www. argentina. gob. ar.
La gloria le llegaba a los 25 años. Cuatro años después, las lesiones le imposibilitaron continuar compitiendo, pero rápidamente logró reinventarse y siguió aportando desde otro espacio al desarrollo del taekwondo. Hoy siente la misma pasión: "Lo sigo viviendo como un cuento de hadas. Recuerdo que ese día quedé shockeado, todo lo que viví a mi alrededor fue increíble, cumplí un sueño que parecía lejano. Hoy estoy feliz de llevar una vida y una carrera digna, estoy muy orgulloso y trato de compartir mi experiencia con muchos jóvenes".
Además Crismanich deja un mensaje alentador sobre este momento de incertidumbre por la pandemia: "Estamos pasando por un momento crítico a nivel mundial. La experiencia en el deporte me hace dar cuenta que hay que ser fuerte y que se puede salir adelante. Este mal rato que estamos pasando en la sociedad con este virus va a a pasar y va a volver a salir el sol. Estoy convencido que de esto saldremos más fuertes e inteligentes para llevar adelante una mejor calidad de vida".
Y también mostró optimismo acerca del futuro de su deporte: "Quiero contagiar confianza a muchos jóvenes y continuar en esta tarea de detectar talentos a lo largo de la Argentina. Me gusta recorrer el país y tratar de sembrar esa semillita de sueño donde hago mi paso. El taekwondo en la Argentina no para de crecer".
