Tal como informó esta Cartera, el personal de la Delegación Inteligencia Criminal e Investigación de la Prefectura Naval de Concordia comenzó una pesquisa a mediados del mes de septiembre de 2019, ante la sospecha de que dos de los involucrados contrabandeaban cigarrillos y/ o prendas de vestir que derivaban hacia el exterior por pasos no habilitados. Los uniformados profundizaron la investigación y solicitaron la intervención telefónica de los investigados, que permitió conocer un inminente acuerdo donde los involucrados habían coordinado y organizado la descarga de un posible cargamento de estupefacientes en dos domicilios distribuidos en el barrio Tiro Federal. Con los indicios recolectados durante las tareas de inteligencia criminal, se comprobó que, en efecto, habían recibido un cargamento proveniente de la provincia de Misiones. Ante esta situación, el Juzgado Federal de Primera Instancia Número 1 de Concepción del Uruguay, a cargo del Dr. Pablo Seró, dispuso el inmediato allanamiento de las dos viviendas. Al respecto, Villalba explicó: "es muy valioso este trabajo conjunto entre las Fuerzas Federales y la Justicia Federal. Es la política que queremos en la lucha contra el narcotráfico. Quiero felicitar y agradecer a todos los uniformados que han participado de este operativo". Por otra parte, en la ciudad correntina de Ita Ibate, miembros especializados de la Prefectura, también a raíz de tareas de investigación criminal, tomó conocimiento de que se acopiaría droga en la Isla Entre Ríos. Ante esta situación, la Prefectura desplegó un operativo cerrojo por aire, tierra y agua: a bordo del helicóptero PA-80, cuatro embarcaciones y móviles terrestres. Los efectivos rastrillaron el lugar, con el apoyo de Waika y Venus, dos perras antinarcóticos. El jefe de la Prefectura Naval, Mario Farinón, destacó el trabajo realizado por las y los trabajadores de la Fuerza, tras lo que la ministra Frederic concluyó: "quiero agradecerle al Juez y a la Fiscal por la confianza que mostraron en las Fuerzas Federales. Sabemos que es un hito en una historia de colaboración que estamos construyendo y subrayando. Sin el acompañamiento del Juzgado y la Fiscalía, sin la investigación, no hubiese sido posible".
