THE GOVERNMENT ASSISTS RESIDENTS OF CHACO AFFECTED BY HEAVY RAINS

Published on Tuesday 23 April 2019. The Government launched a national plan
of action, sending personnel and equipment of the Army and National
Gendarmerie Prefecture, to assist the populations affected by the rains in
recent days in several locations the province of Chaco. Effective work with
special vehicles to reach flooded areas and assist families with basic
necessities .. The most affected localities are Resistencia, Las Breñas,
Charata, Sáenz Peña, La Tigra, Corzuela, General Pinedo, Napenay and
Cologne Aboriginal, and were flown by undersecretary of Civil Protection
Operations Security Ministry, Daniel Russo. As reported by the SINAGIR
exist about 2,000 people evacuated. Russo coordinated emergency measures

affected area was the province of Corrientes Capital and evacuees were not
reported. In addition, national forces are in readiness against any request

well as the province of Formosa where more than 3,300 evacuated due to the
flooding of the Pilcomayo River. The actions are carried out under the
aegis of SINAGIR (National System for Integrated Risk Management) under the

provinces, a comprehensive and effective response nationwide emergency
situations.
