TRAINING STUDENTS IN AGRICULTURAL BIOTECHNOLOGY
the first stage of educational cooperation agreement on the matter between
the Agrotécnico Instituto San José Obrero and the national portfolio was
executed. Monday 29 April 2019. Convention No. 32/2018 signed by the
Secretary of Government of Agribusiness, Luis Miguel Etchevehere, and
Agrotécnico Instituto San José Obrero, the town of Darregueira province of
Buenos Aires, had its first compliance cycle , formally continuing a
relationship of educational cooperation between the two institutions
established for 3 years. With the momentum of the Ministry of Food and
Bioeconomy, by Andrés Murchison, for 23 and 24 April 2019, the technical
team of the Biotechnology Directorate developed the first training modules
with students from the Buenos Aires institution. The institute San José
Obrero is a center for agro-technical education model, which has
orientation in biotechnology and its facilities is a biofactory that allows
students trained in various techniques of modern biotechnology with
strategic alliances with other educational institutions, INTA, INTI and the
private sector. This first training included the following theoretical and
practical modules: Introduction to Biotechnology, Biomaterials and
Bioproducts; and Communication and Biotechnology. During the first module a
practical DNA extraction was performed. In the second module, students
began to outline a project based on agro-industrial waste byproduct of
their region. And finally, during the communication module and
biotechnology, teams reflected on the public perception on biotechnology.
All modules require team work done by students of 4th and 5th year of the
Institute and will be monitored by the technical team of the Biotechnology
Directorate and teaching staff of agricultural technology. In the next
step, to be held in August modules biosafety regulatory framework and
bioinputs will be added. It should also be noted that the Institute where
the convention invited to participate in the theoretical lectures at the
School of Agricultural Mocoví local family of Mocoretá, Corrientes and the
School of Agricultural Secondary School No. 1 in the town of Goyena is
implemented province from Buenos Aires.
