ADVANCE THE WORKS TO BUILD HIGHWAY IN CARMEN DE ARECO

In the Buenos Aires district of Carmen de Areco, advance works for the
construction of a highway and a new distributor splice connecting with
Highway National Route 7 Luján-Junín, which is done within the framework of
a draft Participation public - private (PPP). The work is executed under
the Corridor C, one of the six corridors tendered under the PPP system,
with an investment of over 288 million pesos, will benefit more than 8 800
users. The project is implemented by the company Vial Andes 7 by the
administration and development of Corridor C. The proposed works will
promote trade and development of agriculture, industry and tourism, as it
will reduce the costs of transportation between Buenos Aires and Mendoza
and will save three hours of travel and trucks coming to Chile. Currently,
the Ministry of Transport, through National Roads Authority, has launched
the construction of 97 kilometers of highway Luján-Junín, running with
stretches from San Andrés de Giles to Carmen de Areco from Chacabuco and
Junin. The new highway will significantly reduce the number of accidents on
the RN 7 and eliminate the possibility of frontal crashes. The first stage
of PPP project is supported by the Ministry of Transport initiative that
included the six corridors tender -A, B, C, E, F and South- along more than
3 300 kilometers domestic routes Buenos Aires, Cordoba, La Pampa, Mendoza
and Santa Fe.
