MORE THAN 50 BIDS WERE RECEIVED FOR RENEWABLE ENERGY PROJECTS
The Secretary of State's Office received 56 bids for a total investment of
520 million dollars under Round 3 of the RENEW program, which seeks to
promote renewable energy projects that leverage the capabilities available
in networks of medium and low voltage and the participation of
non-traditional players in the sector. The projects presented are
distributed in 14 provinces, would generate 1 600 direct jobs and would
supply, once in operation, 350 thousand Argentine households with
electricity from renewable sources. This new phase of the RENEW program
aims to add to the development of renewable projects to SMEs across the
country and capital of non-traditional players in the sector. It also seeks
to gain an economic advantage for the system through savings in
transmission and distribution losses of energy. Round 3 of RENEW seeks
small-scale projects distributed throughout the country, to be connected in
networks of medium and low voltage of 13.2 kV, 33 kV and 66 kV, with a
minimum maximum power allowed by project of 10 MW and 0.5 MW. Only for the
case of wind power technology the offered may exceed the limit established
in up to 3.5 MW, provided it said excess is less than the unit power of a
aerogerenador. Distribution technology is 350 MW for wind and solar
photovoltaic, which will compete together with quotas by regions and
provinces. Small Hydroelectric available 10 MW to 25 MW biomass, biogas and
10 MW Biogas Landfill 5MW, all without region. The award of projects will
take place on 22 July, once evaluated the financial bids.
