THE ARGENTINE STATE RECOVERED GOODS DERIVED FROM DRUG TRAFFICKING WITHIN THE FRAMEWORK OF THE CAUSE OF MONEY LAUNDERING

As a result of an extraordinary international investigation, which included
the joint participation of Colombia, United States and Argentina, the
Justice Argentina ordered the recovery of property in the context of a case
of money laundering from drug trafficking.
"It's historic. Through an exceptional research, with the cooperation of
the three countries and many national and international agencies, was
recovered definitively in favor of the Argentine State and all citizens,
the proceeds of drug trafficking, "said Minister of Security Office,
Patricia Bullrich.
Such research was coordinated by the Ministry of National Security, the
Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU), the PROCUNAR, Argentina DEA office and
the Office of Foreign Assets Control (under the Department of Treasury),
which he threw the existence of an organization dedicated to drug
trafficking and money laundering with links in our country.
"This case demonstrates once again the commitment of the Argentine
authorities to fight in a coordinated manner and in cooperation with other
countries against the drug cartels and money laundering. Also confirms the
will of the state to deprive criminals of their assets and recover them in
favor of the Argentines, using all available legal tools, "said Mariano
Federici, president of the FIU. Then he added, "this is the way to
discourage organized to commit crimes in Argentina and thus help to develop
a more integral and safer country crime."
From there, the Portfolio, the FIU and multiagency coordinated at local and
international level, research deepened analyzing every move made by those
involved.
With the information gathered, the Federal Court for Criminal and
Correctional Matters No. 3 of Moron, by Dr. Nestor Paul Barral, ordered the
seizure by 200,000,000 pesos and the anticipated seizure of money and
property of the accused.
