WE RECEIVED THE DIRECTOR GENERAL OF THE DIRECTEMAR

The National Naval Prefect, Prefect General Eduardo Scarzello, received at
the Coast Guard building to the highest authority of the Directorate
General of Maritime Territory and Merchant Marine (DIRECTEMAR) of Chile,
Vice Admiral Ignacio Mardones Costa.
Following a meeting between the heads of both maritime authorities, foreign
official visited the Situation Room and attended an institutional
presentation accompanied Chilean liaison officer to the Prefecture, the
Commander LT Torres Patricio Peñafiel.
During the exhibition various topics addressed institutional activities and
internalized Vice Admiral Costa on the tasks that force, with particular
emphasis on the safety of navigation, safeguarding human life in the waters
and spill response. The presentation ended with a demonstration of the
controls in the Exclusive Economic Zone through the Coast Guard Pro System,
the innovative system designed by the institution for the identification,
location and real-time tracking of vessels operating in Argentine waters.
