AFTER PASSING THROUGH THE SHIPYARD TANDANOR, THE HOLMBERG RETURNED TO MAR DEL PLATA TO REJOIN SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH

After more than four months of intense work in the shipyard Tandanor
finally Friday morning set sail from the port of Buenos Aires Dr. Eduardo
L. Holmberg BIP National Institute for Fisheries Research and Development
(INIDEP). The ship arrived in Mar del Plata around 13 on Saturday and was
received by the Financial Controller, CL (re) Hector Marcelo Lobbosco.
Thanks to the excellent work of staff's Historic Dockyard Tandanor, space
is administered by the Ministry of Defense of the Nation, the INIDEP
retells a flagship that will complement the scientific campaigns currently
being done intensively elBIP Victor Angelescu.
The Holmberg was the second joined the fleet National Institute for
Fisheries Research and Development ship. It was built at the shipyard
Hitachi Zosen Maizuru City, Japan, in 1980. It is a boat designed
specifically for fisheries and environmental research.
It is estimated that by the middle of August the boat back to campaign
research and, in this case, the Institute authorities decided that the
scientific cruise will focus on the species common hake (Merluccius hubbsi).
How was repairing
According officially informed Tandanor Shipyard, they were extensive work
in various sectors of the ship INIDEP but mainly concentrated on hull, deck
and propulsion system.
The variable pitch propeller was removed and while mechanized shovels were
renovated in its entirety. Similarly, cachets are recambiaron later perform
tightness tests on the hydraulic system of the propeller.
On the main deck 40 square meters of steel were renewed forward of the
deckhouse for what was necessary to dismantle totally 3 cabins, 2
bathrooms, 3 halls, 2 and 1 utility deposits. After finishing the work on
deck habitability sector Tandanor made the installation of the
aforementioned structures including total renovation of insulations,
reinstatements lighting, ventilation, communication and furnishings. In
addition, furniture were renovated in crew mess, officers' mess, and
furniture were manufactured in stainless steel kitchen.
Relative to the hull, the steel parts are made in parts of the same in both
bands. They were dismantled and repaired hull valves and hydraulic tests
were performed.
Finally, we proceeded to washing, degreasing, and painted both his live
work and its topsides.
