El tripulante del pesquero ruso "Atlántida" arribó a Ushuaia La Armada Argentina brindó apoyo en cumplimiento de su responsabilidad como autoridad SAR. domingo 01 de marzo de 2020 La Armada Argentina, dependiente del Ministerio de Defensa, informa que el tripulante que sufrió un accidente cerebro vascular a bordo del pesquero de bandera rusa "Atlántida", mientras navegaba aproximadamente a 400 kms al sur de las Islas Malvinas, arribó en la madrugada de hoy al puerto de la ciudad de Ushuaia y fue trasladado e internado en el hospital regional de dicha ciudad en donde recibe atención sanitaria. Cabe recordar que el pasado 28 de febrero, la Armada Argentina –en cumplimiento de lo establecido en la Ley N° 22. 445 como organismo responsable que entiende en la salvaguarda de la vida en el mar, su asistencia y salvamento en la Área de Responsabilidad SAR de la República Argentina– destacó, a los efectos de brindar asistencia en altamar al buque pesquero ruso, al aviso ARA "Islas Malvinas". La unidad de la Armada se encontraba en la zona realizando la Patrulla Antártica Naval Combinada (PANC), actividad que se realiza en la Antártida durante los meses de verano junto a la Armada de Chile para asistir en casos de emergencia a las embarcaciones que navegan en la zona austral. Tras producirse el encuentro de ambos buques en el mar, no fue posible realizar el traspaso del tripulante entre ambas embarcaciones como consecuencia de las desfavorables condiciones meteorológicas que había en la zona. Ante estas circunstancias y en virtud de la urgencia del caso, en las primeras horas de ayer, las autoridades del Centro Coordinador Ushuaia establecieron una comunicación con las autoridades navales de Puerto Williams (Chile) para solicitar su apoyo con una embarcación o helicóptero que permitiera agilizar la evacuación a tierra del tripulante, quien mientras tanto fue asistido por el oficial médico del aviso ARA "Islas Malvinas". En virtud de las fluidas relaciones bilaterales que existen entre ambas Armadas, las autoridades navales de Puerto Williams de inmediato pusieron a disposición la lancha rápida LSR "Arcángel", a la cual fue traspasado el tripulante damnificado, al norte de la Isla Nueva, en el Canal Beagle, en donde las condiciones meteorológicas reinantes eran más favorables. Al arribar al muelle comercial de la ciudad de Ushuaia, además de una unidad sanitaria para su traslado, esperaban al tripulante ruso autoridades gubernamentales, municipales, consulares, portuarias y de la Armada Argentina que tomaron intervención en la evacuación. Con el arribo a tierra del tripulante enfermo y tras haber sido trasladado al centro médico asistencial para su atención, el Centro Coordinador Ushuaia dio por cerrado el caso SAR (Búsqueda y Rescate por sus siglas en inglés).
