El ministro de Economía, Martín Guzmán, afirmó este martes que la nueva oferta de canje de deuda "muestra una gran voluntad de la Argentina de acordar" y ratificó que el país "ha hecho un esfuerzo importante, y ahora la decisión está del lado de los acreedores".
"La Argentina hizo su parte; esta propuesta representa un esfuerzo que le permitiría al país volver a crecer y sostener ese crecimiento. Ir más allá empieza a ponernos en una situación de insostenibilidad", sostuvo el Ministro en declaraciones a Radio Con Vos.
En este sentido, el titular del Palacio de Hacienda destacó que "la Argentina necesita resolver su problema de deuda insostenible para generar condiciones para recuperarse y generar trabajo" y precisó que con la última propuesta, "no se les está pidiendo a los acreedores que pierdan sino que ganen menos".
De esta forma, Guzmán destacó que "queremos salir del default de una forma que le dé al Estado el alivio para hacer políticas para el desarrollo en términos de educación, salud, ciencia y tecnología". "Estamos haciendo el máximo esfuerzo sobre la base de un compromiso que podamos cumplir. Si no lo podemos cumplir, volveríamos a entrar en la dinámica que tanto daño le ha hecho a la Argentina", agregó Guzmán.
Con respecto a la situación generada por el COVID-19, el Ministro resaltó las políticas implementadas por el gobierno "que han evitado una destrucción de empleo y un aumento de la pobreza y la indigencia mayor a la que hubiese habido".
