AGROINDUSTRY PRESENT IN APAS, SUPERMARKETISM FAIR BRAZIL

In this edition there is a record number of participants Argentine
companies, about 50 agrifood SMEs of 11 Argentine provinces. Wednesday 08
May 2019. The Government Secretariat of Agribusiness participates in APAS
(Paulista Association of Supermarkets) expo in Brazil from 6 to 9 May,
accompanying the record of 47 food companies that were part of the event,
most them belonging to the SME sector. APAS is the most important fair of
the supermarket industry in Brazil and are carried at the Expo Center Norte
in Sao Paulo. The sample generates a volume of close to 740 million dollars
a year business provides a good opportunity to get a clear perception of
the Paulista market and opens the possibility to do business, as
international brands are exposed. In the 2019 edition, Argentina is
presented under the slogan "World Supermarket", through the recreation of
an in situ within the Argentine flag coordinated by the Agency for
Investment and Trade gondola. "There is great optimism on the part of the
participating companies the opportunity offered by the Brazilian market and
to offer large chains high quality products. Argentina is one of the most
important trading partners of Brazil in foods. We have a participation of
17.9% of the total market, "said National director of Food and Beverage,
the Ministry of Food and Bioeconomy, Mercedes Nimo, who participates with
Added Agroindustrial in Brazil, Javier Dufourquet. During the first day of
the fair an important interest in Argentine products by major chains,
supermarkets Brazilian Paulistas mainly visualized. In this regard, it
noted that Argentine companies are well positioned in supermarkets with
their fractionated products. A clear example is the case of Aimurai S.A.,
the company exports fractionated oil olive supermarket chains and one of
the requirements demanded, was to demonstrate his Argentine origin. To
accommodate demand, Aimurai requested the Seal Alimentos Argentinos and can
now offer their differentiated products. On the other hand, there is the
presence of some Argentine companies that have not yet had the experience
of exporting. In this event they are making their first steps to publicize
their products and realize its first export to Brazil, continued
communication initiated last May as part of the trade mission in northern
Brazil, and are already trying to close APAS operation. The universe of
participating SMEs covering the widest range of Agroproductos, many of them
come from regional economies and are noted for their high added value:
olive oil, wine, raisins, organic, milk, jams, alfajores, baked goods,
sweets, honey, spices, meats, fishery products, vegetables, wheat flour,
garlic, onion, gluten-free pasta, goat cheese, from 11 provinces.
ComercioLos main products imported in 2018 by Brazil to the world, were for
fisheries products (14.4%), ethyl alcohol (7.9%), Malta (4.8%) and olive
oil (4.6 %) representing a value of 2981.1 million U $ S CIF. Argentina
exported to Brazil last year 1,336 million, and the main products exported
were malt, preparations of potatoes, wheat flour, powdered milk, fishery
products, pear and olive preparations. There is a great opportunity to
increase sales of products ready for the gondola and for this reason,
domestic SMEs are betting this fair of great tradition to make contact with
the major supermarket chains in Brazil.
