BERGMAN LED THE CELEBRATION OF WORLD ENVIRONMENT DAY

Under the slogan for this year "No air pollution", the Ministry of
Environment and Sustainable Development of the Nation made the celebration
of World Environment Day with a tour on bicycles -equipadas with
air-quality sensors along the Paseo del Bajo . Government Secretary of
Environment and Sustainable Development, Sergio Bergman, led the event
aimed to sensitize the participants about the changes that can be taken to
reduce air pollution.
The day began at the Plaza of the Argentine Army, where a circuit began on
bicycles along the Paseo del Bajo Armas. Some of the participants who
joined the initiative volunteer project Open Seneca, which allows citizens
to use sensors to measure personal exposure to air pollution and query your
data.
Bergman recalled the meeting the work carried out by the area responsible
and who was at the event: "From environmental education to our sustainable
entrepreneurs Proesus, here with clean and sustainable mobility". Also
praised "the ability to have sensors on our bikes with volunteers who are
measuring air quality, something very important because Argentina does not
yet have a standard air quality", to which he added that "in highly
populated cities like Buenos Aires, we will be forced to go to clean
mobility, the clean energy matrix, because it is no longer just about the
importance of caring for the environment but the impact on the health of
the people. "
Later, a visit by the spaces set up by the Ministry of Environment as part
of the initiatives realized that the body carries out: Entrepreneurs
Sustainable initiatives, with exhibitions incubated for PROESUS -
Sustainable Use of Biodiversity (USUBI) -with products project,
Environmental Education, with the presentation of the Sustainable
Development Goals and Agenda 2030- 2030 FORESTAR platform.
Finally, Bergman announced the launch of vehicular labeling, as published
in Resolution 85 / 2018. It states that manufacturers and importers of
light motor vehicles must display outlets in an informative label for
energy efficiency in vehicles at least 15% of its models are certified in
CO2 emissions and fuel consumption with the certificate of gaseous
emissions or environmental license configuration (LCA). For official point
of virtual selling brand, the display must be done with more details.
The ceremony for the celebration of Environment Day also participated:
Ambassador to Canada, David Usher; the head of the Coordination Unit
National Environment Area, Patricia Holzman; Undersecretary of Control and
recomposition of the same portfolio, Juan Trebino; President of the
Environmental Protection Agency of the City of Buenos Aires, Juan Bautista
Filgueira Risso; Director of Education in Energy Efficiency of the
Government Secretariat of Energy, Juan Manuel Ojea; responsible for Energy
Efficiency and Productive Sectors Transportation same Ministry, Fernando
Lía; and other authorities.
