SIX NEW RACES ARE ADDED TO THOSE CONSIDERED IN THE PUBLIC INTEREST

Serious accidents or tragedies realize how certain professions may, under
certain circumstances, endanger the life or integrity of persons. It is why
the Council of Universities (CU) today approved the inclusion of six new
races to those considered of public interest by the national government,
which now must prove their quality to the National Assessment and
Accreditation (CONEAU) .
With the presence of Minister of Education, Culture, Science and
Technology, Alejandro Finocchiaro, and Secretary of University Policies,
Pablo Domenichini, the CU held its plenary meeting where he joined the
degrees in Food Microbiology, Food Science and Engineering in Transport,
Naval and Mechatronics racing Article 43 of the Law on Higher Education
(LES), including those formations degree by professional interference can
compromise the public interest and jeopardize direct way the health,
safety, rights or the property of the inhabitants.
"The addition of these degrees, as relevant in their respective fields of
performance, demonstrates the maturity and great responsibility of the
Argentine university system," said Finocchiaro and stressed: "We know that
our university system is among the best in the region, but we also know
that we are moving ahead and we need to address certain changes to make our
university more flexible, plan our offer, encourage vocations, foster the
exchange and choosing our country as a place of study. "
Paul Domenichini meanwhile said: "I welcome the entry of these races
because they meant years of treatment in this Council. Some of them very
heartfelt for the university system, and others with great relevance for
the tragic situation that has lived to Argentina. We applaud the gesture of
all the advice present in this decision. "
During the meeting the new standards for accreditation of Medical,
Biochemical, pharmaceutical and dental specialisms were also approved.
Finally, a list of candidates proposed to form the Board of the CONICET,
formed by Juan Carlos Del Bello, rector of the National University of Rio
Black, Felix Nieto Quintas, rector of the National University of San Luis
and Agustín Salvia, principal investigator CONICET.
