THE GOVERNMENT GAVE COMPUTER EQUIPMENT TO PROVINCIAL CIVIL REGISTRIES

The national government, through the Ministry of the Interior, Public Works
and Housing, Civil Records transferred to different provinces 250
technological equipment for performing digital ID card and passport
formalities. The equipment, purchased with an investment of 15 million
pesos and under the Federal Plan for Documentation, is composed of
computers, pads for digital signature, fingerprint readers, scanners and
cameras documentation. The material will be used to open new digital points
which can process the DNI and passport and to strengthen the infrastructure
of the points that are already in operation. The agreement for equipment
delivery was signed by Interior Secretary, Sebastián García de Luca; the
director of the National Registry of Persons (RENAPER), Juan José D'Amico,
and the directors of the Civil Registry of the provinces of La Pampa,
Catamarca, Neuquén, San Juan and Mendoza. García de Luca said that the
measure "is part of the commitment to make available the tools you have the
national government to ensure such an important right as is the identity."
