La jornada cuenta con el apoyo y la participación de la Comisión Nacional de Monumentos, de Lugares y de Bienes Históricos. La Iglesia de San Andrés fue inaugurada en el año 1913, para la creciente comunidad escocesa arraigada desde 1825 en la colonia de Santa Catalina/ Monte Grande. Es obra de los arquitectos Bassett-Smith y Collcutt, y fue declarada "Bien de Interés Histórico y Artístico Nacional", junto con otros dos templos protestantes de la comunidad británica en Lomas de Zamora: la Iglesia Anglicana "Holy Trinity" y la "First Methodist Church". A modo de breve reseña, es de señalar que las tres iglesias ostentan un notable valor histórico, íntimamente relacionado con la importante comunidad británica protestante asentada en Lomas de Zamora y la zona Sur bonaerense desde el siglo XIX.
