Esta herramienta agiliza y refuerza la respuesta del trabajo sanitario, porque, en muy poco tiempo, los equipos de salud tienen la certeza de qué decisiones tomar sobre el paciente con síntomas, es decir, si mantenerlo aislado, darle el alta o bien, realizar algún tratamiento. Todo el proceso dura una hora y media y puede realizarse con los productos que vienen en el kit diagnóstico, más un equipo para incubar a 60°, es decir, que no requiere del equipamiento costoso y sofisticado que utilizan los test moleculares RT-PCR. Las PyME involucradas son CHEMTEST, incubada en la Fundación Argentina de Nanotecnología (FAN) del Ministerio de Ciencia, Tecnología e Innovación dentro del Campus de la UNSAM; y Productos Bio-Lógicos (PB-L), una empresa de base tecnológica creada desde la UNQ. En conjunto están en condiciones de producir 100000 kits diagnósticos de COVID-19 por mes.
