Minister of Sport of Colombia, Ernesto Lucena Barrero, confirmed through a virtual meeting the realization of the Pan American Games Junior 2021. The international event, which includes young people between 14 and 22 years will be in the 9 to 19 September and will feature more than 3 500 athletes who will participate in 27 disciplines.
"We know the importance of these Games post pandemic for youth in America. We are working very hard to make them the games we have dreamed of and want them to be high quality, "said Lucena Barrero.
27 are water sports (diving, swimming, art swimming); Athletics; badminton; 3x3 basketball bowling; boxing; rafting; cycling; fencing; gymnastics (artistic, rhythmic and trampoline); fencing; judo, karate; Weightlifting; fight; skating; pentathlon; rowing; squash; taekwondo; tennis; table tennis; sport's shot; archery; triathlon, sailing and volleyball.
The athletes and get gold medals get automatic qualification for the Pan American Games in Santiago de Chile 2023.

El ministro de Deporte de Colombia, Ernesto Lucena Barrero, confirmó a través de una reunión virtual la realización de los Juegos Panamericanos Junior 2021. El evento internacional, que abarca a los jóvenes de entre 14 y 22 años, se hará del 9 al 19 de septiembre y contará con más de 3. 500 deportistas que participarán en 27 disciplinas.
"Sabemos la importancia que tienen estos Juegos post pandemia para los jóvenes de toda América. Estamos trabajando muy duro para que sean los Juegos que hemos soñado y queremos que sean de alta calidad", dijo Lucena Barrero.
Los 27 deportes son los acuáticos (clavados, natación, natación artística); atletismo; badminton; básquetbol 3x3: bowling; boxeo; canotaje; ciclismo; esgrima; gimnasia (artística, rítmica y trampolín); esgrima; judo, karate; levantamiento de pesas; lucha; patinaje; pentatlón; remo; squash; taekwondo; tenis; tenis de mesa; tiro deportivo; tiro con arco; triatlón, vela y vóleibol.
Las y los atletas que obtengan medallas doradas conseguirán la clasificación automática para los Juegos Panamericanos de Santiago de Chile 2023.
