IN PALPALÁ, JUJUY, THE NATIONAL GOVERNMENT WILL FINANCE THE CONSTRUCTION OF NEW HOMES FOR FAMILIES THAT WERE AFFECTED BY FLOODS
Tuesday 30 April 2019. Officials of the Ministry of Interior, Public Works
and Housing Agency and the United Nations and Project Services (UNOPS);
with Governor of Jujuy, Gerardo Morales; the mayor of Palpalá, Pablo
Palomares; and representatives of the Institute of Housing and Urban
Development Jujuy (IVUJ), signed a joint agreement whereby 30 emergency
housing will be built in such jujeña town, which will be aimed at families
who were affected by flooding in the area in 2016 and 2018 .. Through the
Program for Improving housing conditions (MCH), financed by the Ministry of
Interior and coordinates UNOPS, 16 three-bedroom homes and 14 two-bedroom
will be built. Government investment in this case exceeds 48 million and
the works will be executed by eight local cooperatives. The beneficiaries
will be families with limited financial resources considered in "critical
situation" for their extreme social, economic, health vulnerability and
habitacional.El technical monitoring and certification by permanent
inspections both during the construction phase and in the post- warranty
work, borne by UNOPS, while the social support of beneficiary families will
the social team of the Municipality of Palpalá. The survey and approval of
plans of subdivision be made by the IVUJ and delivery of each lot will also
