IT WAS CONDUCTED A TRADE MISSION OF FOOD AND BEVERAGES IN CHILE
They involved 16 Argentine SMEs. 116 business meetings were held. Monday 29
April 2019. The Secretariat of Agribusiness Government, through the
Ministry of Food and Bio-economy, and Argentina Investment Agency and
International Trade, jointly organized the call for Argentine companies to
participate in the Trade Mission foods and Beverages Chile, held between 24
and 25 April in the city of Santiago. In the same 16 Argentine companies
they participated mainly products such as olive oil, dairy products,
chocolates, tea, peanuts, snacks, bakery, ready meals and gluten-free and
healthy products among others; based in the provinces of Buenos Aires,
Cordoba and Santa Fe. 116 domestic SMEs conducted business meetings with 32
Chilean companies interested in Argentine food. Entrepreneurs also made
visits to the supermarket chains Cencosud, Unimarc and Montserrat, the
latter being one of the most important neighboring country, since it has 35
mouths in the city of Santiago de Chile. Notably, there are important
Chilean supermarket chains, which have their own product lines, which are
produced by several Argentine companies, as in the case of sugar, pastas
and oils. This trend will continue to rise, since the issue was included in
the meetings held during the trade mission, which was focused on progress
in the production of white lines to supermarkets. Another relevant fact in
this mission is that some SMEs use Simple Export for sending samples. The
amounts projected sales potential exceeding 500,000 dollars. Finally, the
group of Argentine companies met with the Confederation of Retail Trade and
Tourism of Chile (Confedechtur), an organization that brings importing SMEs
with a presence throughout the Chilean territory in the same shared common
interests and the possibility of establishing business contacts. Trade
