WHEN A PLANE TAKES OFF THERE ARE HUNDREDS OF OPPORTUNITIES TO START FLYING

President Mauricio Macri attended the El Palomar Airport at the start of
cabotage operations in the country of JetSMART, the fourth airline that
adds to the local market for low cost, and remarked that "when a plane
takes off, there are hundreds of opportunities to start to fly". The Head
of State was accompanied by Transport Minister Guillermo Dietrich; Tourism
Minister, Gustavo Santos; Secretary General of the Presidency, Fernando de
Andreis; and the mayor of the municipality of Morón, Ramiro
Tagliaferro. "It's a revolution because they are 5000 people working in
this industry and is a revolution in each destination because, when a plane
lands, it is work for remiseros, taxi drivers, bars, restaurants and
hotels," Macri said. He noted that likewise strengthens federalism "because
what we are doing has been growing much more connectivity between provinces
directly, and continues to grow." Previously, the Head of State toured the
Airbus 320 and greeted the crew of the flight to Mendoza. Also they are
participating in the ceremony by US capital company owner, Bill Franke, and
CEO in Argentina, Estuardo Ortiz. The President said that thanks to the
so-called "Revolution of the aircraft," tourism "is growing" and "brings
more importantly we are looking for in Argentina, which is to generate
quality jobs in every corner of the country." He recalled, in that regard,
that the government currently has more than 30 airports in work in progress
and that last year more than half a million Argentines flew for the first
time, because thanks to the implementation of aerocomercial plan the price
of flights "they are getting lower." "It is a revolution that generates
connectivity, which brings us closer to our affections safely," he added.
He noted that there are already eight provinces that are directly connected
with international destinations, flights without having to be forced
through the metropolitan airports. He mentioned as an example Iguazu
airport represents an entry to Argentina, especially from Europe, so that
tourists can learn not only the Falls but other places of interest of the
country. Meanwhile, Dietrich minister said that "people have relied on the
Revolution of aircraft and flies in low cost" and stressed that this new
paradigm goes hand in hand with the contribution made by airlines to
increase domestic flights . He noted that the El Palomar Airport "exceeded
all expectations" and confirmed that the nation will begin in the coming
days to build a new terminal "with all amenities and the best technology",
for which it will invest about 1,000 million pesos. JetSMART started
operations in the country in December 2018 with international flights from
Cordoba, Mendoza and El Palomar to Santiago de Chile. Since then, he moved
more than 52 thousand passengers. After receiving permission to fly within
the country last January, the company announced that this year will
complete 17 domestic routes, seven of which pass through the city of Buenos
Aires and ten connect directly between different parts of the interior.
JetSMART has three brand new Airbus 320 aircraft by year end plans to add
two others, all with capacity for 186 passengers. The El Palomar Airport
began operations as a commercial terminal in February 2018 and since that
time, departed from there about 764 thousand people, of which 130 thousand
traveled by plane for the first time.
