IT DELVES RESEARCH ON OCCUPATIONAL DISEASES

A team of professionals from the Superintendency of Occupational Risks
(SRT) will study the serious and fatal diseases incapacitating workers;
research will provide national coverage and will include all workers who
are within the system of labor risks.
In order to develop different types of preventive material such as good
practice manuals and technical specifications that will generate corrective
and preventive actions on the SRT jobs- started the activities of the new
Research Team Occupational Diseases.
The selection criteria are fatal diseases caused by carcinogens and those
that generate disability or are potentially disabling.
The case studies come from the notification log by the Labor Risk Insurers
(ART) and Record Operating Fatality (ROAM).

The work of the research team will begin with a previous study that
includes data collection employer, the requirement for information to the

disease to investigate.
Later fieldwork will be used: interviews with those responsible for health
and safety, tour of facilities, analysis of work processes and data
collection through questionnaires.
Finally, as closure of the investigation, a report will seek to establish
links between exposure and health changes will be made.
