MORE THAN 200 STUDENTS WILL REPRESENT THE COUNTRY IN INTERNATIONAL UNIVERSITY GAMES

They are young enthusiasts, athletes and college students who want to take
Argentina to the top. They will be protagonists of the International
University Games in Italy. Thursday the Minister of Education, Culture,
Science and Technology, Alejandro Finocchiaro, dismissed at the Olympic
Park Buenos Aires, before his departure to the city of Naples, on Monday 1
July.
"Honestly I admire a lot. You are twinned in sport and study. We are very
proud to represent us. You are already winners. Seize this opportunity.
Exchange cultures and camaraderie. In sport and study the most important
thing is to give everything, "said Finocchiaro in the framework of the
meeting in which he gave the students clothes and sports equipment,
together with national and local authorities.
International, known as University Games University Games, meet athletes
who attend higher education worldwide. On this occasion, the XXX Summer
Universiade will be held from 3 to 14 July with the participation of 8,000
athletes from over 150 countries competing in 18 disciplines.
This time, students-from careers such as nutrition, foreign trade,
industrial engineering, kinesiology, international relations, among others
defend and represent our flag 253 participants from 88 institutions in 19
provinces, who will compete in 14 sports: athletics , basketball, fencing,
football, gymnastics, rhythmic gymnastics, judo, swimming, rugby 7s,
taekwondo, tennis, archery, sport shooting and volleyball.
The delegation Argentina increased its participation in these international
university games held in recent years: in Shenzhen 2011, the delegation was
7 members; Kazan 2013 31 people participated; for the 2015 edition of
Gwangju (South Korea), the number rose to 120 people; 2017 Universiade was
held in Taipei and the number of our delegation was doubled and 258
participants.
College sports is a great tool to sustain and improve the educational paths
and well-being of each and students who make up the university community.
That is why the Ministry of Education, Culture, Science and Technology
Office has developed and promoted by the Secretariat of University
Policies, and with the support of the Technical Committee of University
Sports Argentine of CIN and the Federation of University Sports Argentino
(Fedua) , an important line of action sports.
Also they attended the meeting Secretary of University Policies, Pablo
Domenichini; Undersecretary of Sports of the City of Buenos Aires, Luis
Lobo and the National Director of University Development, Daniela Nipoti.
