THE COFEMOD IN ARGENTINA OPEN 2019: TOWARDS AN OPEN STATE.
The fourth edition of the National Forum for Open Government and Civic
Technology, Argentina Open, was held on May 8 at the Pasaje Dardo Rocha
city of La Plata, province of Buenos Aires. The event brought together
experts, academics, students, journalists, government officials,
entrepreneurs, civil society organizations and citizens in order to
exchange experiences, knowledge and lessons learned on transparency,
accountability, collaboration, citizen participation, open data ,
innovation, new technologies, gender equality and modernization of the
state.
"This is the place to discuss such important and important issues that make
strengthening the dialogue level, freedom of expression, transparency of
information are all fundamental aspects of democracy. Today without these
values democracy would almost drifting, "said Lt. Gov. Daniel Salvador in
the opening ceremony.

Governor María Eugenia Vidal sent a video message that could be seen on the
screen of the main stage. In it the policy of transparency and
accountability that is being developed in the province of Buenos Aires is
highlighted.
For its part, the Secretary of Government of modernization of the nation,
Andrés Ibarra, explained that "the integration of standards, integration of
a digital government, sharing different tools with municipalities and
provinces, connecting the Argentines through policies communications allow
us to carry out this development in open government that is critical to
governance. " He also stressed that today Argentina has a recognized
presence in the world, since this year Argentina will chair the OGP (Open
Government Partnership).
Members COFEMOD plenary and its Committee on Open Government and Innovation
staged various panels and workshops. The COFEMOD delegation consisted of
representatives of the Coordination Unit, the City of Buenos Aires and the
provinces of Buenos Aires, Catamarca, Chaco, Córdoba, Jujuy, Neuquén, Santa
Cruz, Santa Fe and Tucuman. See program of activities
More than 1000 participants, 10 provinces, 90 speakers, 40 panels, among
other activities, are the numbers that consolidate Argentina Open 2019 as
the most important event of open government in our country.
