FLOODING CONTINUED GOVERNMENT ASSISTANCE TO SANTA FE AND CHACO FORMOSA

The Government continues to work on operational support and return to the
homes of the Chaco flood affected population while maintaining assistance
to people in different localities of Santa Fe and Formosa who remain in
situations of flood evacuees. In addition, the authorities of the National
System for Integrated Risk Management and Civil Protection (SINAGIR) are in
constant contact with officials from Santiago del Estero to any requirement
regarding evacuees in Los Juries, Department of General Taboada. In Chaco,
Army, Gendarmerie and Coast Guard continue to collaborate in operating back
to housing and delivery of supplies to the population, with the use of
UNIMOG trucks, double cab trucks, special boats and helicopters. Federal
forces working in collaboration with Volunteer Fire crews, Federal Police,
provincial Civil Defense and Public Health. There are still almost 200
people waiting to return to their homes when waters recede in General
Pinedo, Coronel Du Graty, Samuhu, Tacuruzal, Forest Rio de Oro, La
Eduvigis, Commander Frias, Captain Solari, Puerto Bermejo, General Vedia
and Colonia Elisa, said SINAGIR. National Roads Authority reported that the
National Route 89 continues with restricted traffic and Provincial Route 4
is affected by the repair work flow. Santa Fe, Army, along with Civil
Defense Volunteer Firefighters and police in the province, assists in the
towns north with the distribution of food and supplies to the population.
