MORE THAN 700 STUDENTS PLEDGED ALLEGIANCE TO THE FLAG IN FRONT OF THE FRIGATE ARA "PRESIDENTE SARMIENTO"

This afternoon the ship museum frigate ARA "Presidente Sarmiento"
officiated stage before 720 students from public and private elementary
schools in the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires and Greater Buenos Aires who
made the promise to the national flag.
Dock 3 in Puerto Madero, at the request of loyalty to the homeland
insignia, the students of fourth grade educational establishments of the
ten participants responded in unison, "Yes, I promise." Alongside them,
family and teachers expressed their pride and emotion.
At the beginning of the ceremony, the director of the host, captain Luis
Antonio Paredes, ship highlighted values creator teaches homeland,

showed us the way to freedom." He also praised the figure of Domingo
Faustino Sarmiento, stressing both their education, perseverance and love

The event was attended by the Band of the Argentina Navy that, following
their entry through the Puente de la Mujer, was responsible for
implementing the verses of the Argentine national anthem, sung by
mezzo-soprano Maria Amelia Mayol.
Midway through the ceremony, representatives from each school received
diplomas corresponding to the promise, and everyone enjoyed a hot chocolate.
It is expected next Thursday 27 another group of schoolchildren pledge
their allegiance to the national flag in front of the frigate "Presidente
Sarmiento".
