A CHANNEL WILL BE MADE TO CONTROL FLOODS IN SANTA FE AND SANTIAGO DEL ESTERO
The national government is moving on a project to build a canal parallel to
National Route 35 kilometers, on the border between Santa Fe and Santiago
del Estero, and will benefit residents of both provinces. Interior
Minister, Public Works and Housing of the Nation, Rogelio Frigerio,
received the governor of Santa Fe, Miguel Lifschitz, and Santiago del
Estero, Gerardo Zamora, at a meeting of the Committee of the Netherlands
Submeridionales. Hence the initiative to carry the channel, which must now
be subjected to a technical evaluation was presented. The channel will
feature direction North-South runoff, with discharge in the Gorge of
Vipers, and in turn by transverse culverts to fill the route, and
distribute flows coinciding with low natural that are located in the Santa
Fe area. The aim of the work is regular, distribute and redirect from
surface runoff from the territory of Santiago del Estero, resulting surplus
natural infrastructure runoff without crossing the Western Domo, productive
zone and little infrastructure runoff, where the channels must cross rail
and road infrastructure.
