ADVANCE SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY PROJECTS IN GENERAL ALVEAR

Government Secretary for Science, Technology and Productive Innovation of
Argentina, Lino Barañao, visited General Alvear (Mendoza), during which
there projects financed by the Federal Council of Science and Technology
(COFECYT). Initiatives include everything from the creation of an
astronomical observatory to the development and implementation of an
integrated management system of municipal solid waste.
Government Secretary and Deputy Secretary of federalization of Science,
Technology and Productive Innovation and head of COFECYT, Thomas
Ameigeiras, were received by the mayor Walther Marcolini, along with
cabinet officials and technical equipment.
In this context, Barañao considered: "There is enormous potential in
General Alvear, which was a center of innovation in the middle of the last

Projects currently carried forward in General Alvear received from the home
area of ​​Science, Technology and Innovation more than 3 million pesos,
through lines COFECYT: Technology Support Tourism Sector - Museums
(ASETUR), which aims it is to promote and strengthen destinations, tourism
services and products that require technological innovation; Municipal
Technological Development Projects (dětem), oriented technological
development at the local level to promote the quality of life of the
inhabitants; and Federal Projects of Productive Innovation (PFIP), which
supports the productive and inclusive innovation, entrepreneurial culture
with a view to creating a new competitive production profile, considering
the care and protection of the environment and quality of life of the
population
Also, the city of General Alvear was hosting the traveling exhibition of
the Council, "JUGA COOP: Science on the Move" in October 2018 and March
2019, more than 12 thousand visitors at every opportunity. The exhibition
aimed at students and the general public presented the contents:
Paleontology, marine Giants, Chemistry, Mathematics, Physics, Factory:
Design and Innovation, among others.
During his stay, Barañao and Ameigeiras Phoenix toured the farm where
biological controls are developed for the treatment of pests without
chemicals, in collaboration with the Institute of Agricultural Health and
Quality of Mendoza (ISCAMEN); and they visited the biotechnology laboratory
of the Institute of Higher Education UGACOOP.
In the theater Antonio Lafalla, to high school students, the Secretary of
Government gave a lecture in which recounted some of the reasons that drive
people to pursue science, as curiosity is essential inside and outside the
laboratory, which it is the role of the investigator today, and how science
can act as an agent of social change.

recyclable materials collection and logistics, to implement actions that
encourage civic engagement. It also assesses the performance of the
technological system for the treatment and recovery of fermentecible
organic fraction of municipal solid waste from integrated between the
Municipality and technical agents of National Institute of Industrial
Technology (INTI) work.

● Design and installation of natural lighting plant classification of
municipal solid waste in General Alvear
Online: Federal Projects of Productive Innovation (PFIP)
Description: It seeks to develop and manufacture a set of passive solar
lighting devices in pilot scale to be applied in an industrial warehouse
used for the selection and recovery of waste. To date, the shed has
halogenated mercury lamps 1000W / h, so is expected complement reemplazar─
─ and possibly during daytime time slot the artificial lighting system by
transport devices daylighting.
