AGREEMENT WITH CHINA TO FACILITATE TRADE OF AGRO PRODUCTS

The Argentina reached an agreement with China for the implementation of the
Memorandum of Understanding safety, which will streamline the empowerment
of local fridges to export meat to that market, according to the Ministry
of Agro-Industry. In addition, it agreed to standardize a single
certificate for all meat, allowing the start of exports of pork and beef
with bone and cooled. During the signing of the agreement an agenda of
topics to be discussed during the year and dates of visits to Argentina
that made China for soybean meal, live cattle, fetal bovine serum and fish
meal were fixed was also set. And there was progress in the negotiations
for China to recognize areas free of fruit fly, which will benefit the
production of pears, apples and cherries, as well as the registration of
establishments peas, and certificates for export honey and egg products.
They attended the signing authorities of the Office of Food Safety and
Animal and Plant Quarantine of China and the Argentine ambassador in that
country, Diego Guelar; agricultural counselor in Beijing, Hernan Viola;
President of the National Health Service and Food Quality (Senasa), Ricardo
Negri, and the coordinator of International Relations Agency, Miguel
Donatelli. Negri noted that progress in "many points of mutual interest"
and noted that "China expressed confidence in the Senasa, allowing faster
progress on adding agri-food exports to this important global market."
