NEW TECHNICAL REGULATIONS FOR BOARDS FROM WOOD FIBERS AND PARTICLES

The Ministry of Internal Trade, the Ministry of Production and Labor,
published Resolution 240/19 which states that boards derived from wood
fibers and particles, whether or coated not, must comply with the technical
requirements of quality and safety .
Boards derived from wood are the main feedstock for most of the furniture
plans. In turn, often they used in the construction industry for different
uses of character estructural.Este no specific technical regulation is
contained in the Technical Framework Regulation Furnishings published
August 16, 2018, which states that products must specific requirements of
physical quality, fire safety, health and environment, product design and
relative to the use, among others. The main requirements to be evaluated
are: dimensional tolerances, mechanical strength, moisture content and
swelling, formaldehyde emission, warpage, abrasion resistance and adhesion,
and resistance to steam cracking, stain resistance and water vapor.
The process of developing the technical regulation has been completed as
established by Resolution 299/18 of the Ministry of Production and Labor's
Office. In this work were representatives of the productive and commercial
sectors, as well as various organizations, such as the Argentine Institute
of Standardization and Certification (IRAM), the National Institute of
Industrial Technology (INTI), the Argentine Accreditation Body (OAA) and
the Argentina Federation of Wood Industry Associations (FAIMA).
