ARGENTINA EXPORTED TO CHINA FOR THE FIRST TIME CHILLED BEEF
This new achievement in foreign trade produced from the protocol signed by
Agricultural Industry in 2018 to expand the marketing of beef to this
destination; it is higher quality products and high value.

The Ministry of Government Agribusiness reports that occurred the first
shipment of chilled beef cuts from Argentina to the port of Shanghai,
China. The shipment was made possible after the adoption of the new health
protocol between the two countries, which came into force in early June,
after which the entrance to this destination cuts and boneless cooled is
allowed.
"This represents a great opportunity for Argentina industry and trade
between the two countries, because it means entry into a new segment of
high value and high demand as the Chinese market," said Secretary of
Government of Agribusiness, Luis Miguel Etchevehere, while the company
congratulated Swift Argentina SA, responsible for the first export on 22
June.
It is worth remembering that before the meat trade with China only allowed
frozen boneless cuts, which were substantial efforts carried out by the
agribusiness portfolio, together with the Senasa, the General
Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine China
(ASIQ) equivalent body in the country, the Foreign Ministry and the Chinese
embassy in Argentina.
This first shipment was achieved with the sale of one of the tracks
selected high value, as Bistec, cooled and vacuum packed. The production
was performed in the model plant the company has in the province of Santa
Fe, enabled to send meat to more than 40 countries.
Swift Argentina S.A., Minerva Foods Group, was founded in 1907 and produces
meat cuts and other value-added products such as burgers, sausages and
others. Exports to European Union, United States, Chile, China, Brazil and
Russia, among others.
China is the main destination of our bovine meat. According to figures
provided by the INDEC in 2018 they reached 998 million dollars compared to
523 million in 2017, implying an increase of over 90%.
